2024 Day of the Dozer
This year’s annual Day of the Dozer event was another huge success!
On September 7th, visitors near and far came together to support the Great Plains Life Foundation’s “Stay 4” program. With over 1,500 children participating, the local community volunteers helped put on another great event.
Alongside the construction equipment experiences, kids explored firetrucks, military vehicles, and farm equipment, as well as activities like playing in the world’s largest sandbox.
This year, we had the privilege of working with all the local trades, Illinois State University, Heartland Community College, and our local community high schools. Notably, the ISU basketball and softball players, along with other community members, helped bring the event to life. Year after year, the “Day of the Dozer” combines fun, community spirit, and a commitment to supporting local youth, making it a cherished event for families across the region.
Stay tuned for the 2025 Day of the Dozer date & details which will also be shared on Stark Excavating’s Facebook page and on 2024 Day of the Dozer | Illinois Day of the Dozer !

Saving Santa
The McLean County Museum of History is leading a restoration effort to save two iconic holiday Santas, once featured at the historic Livingston's department store in Bloomington. These 14.5-foot Santas, introduced in the 1940s and displayed annually through the 1970s, became a beloved local symbol of the holiday season.
